Client Text Backup - Restoring from a Client Text Back-up

Whenever you upgrade to a new version of Hansa, the new version should be installed on the server and all clients, as described here. If there are several Companies in the client (i.e. it is capable of logging on to several servers), it will probably be easier for you to recreate them by importing the Client Text Backup file into the new client database rather than by typing them in to the Company register manually. Also, if special window settings have been saved on a local machine, you may want to ensure these are still used after the upgrade. To do this, you should import the Client Text Backup file that you created from the old version following the instructions here. If you do not have any special window settings and if the Company register is easy to recreate manually, there is no need to import a Client Text Backup file, because no other important information is stored locally.

Importing a Client Text Backup is done on the client machine in the usual way. Install the new version of Hansa on the client, ensure there is no Hansa.HDB file in the folder containing the program and start the program. If the 'Import files available' window appears, import the Client Text Backup from there. Otherwise, change to the System module using the Modules menu, and select 'Imports' from the File menu.
