Entering a Stock Movement - Positions Card
This page describes the fields on the 'Positions' card in the Stock Movement window. Please follow the links below for descriptions of the other cards:
---

- From Position, To Position
- Paste Special
Position register, Warehouse Management module
- You can only use these fields if you are using the Warehouse Management module. If the Stock Movement will be moving Items from one Position to another, specify those Positions here. These Positions can be in the same Location or in different Locations. You can specify a From and To Position in any of the Stock Movement rows (on flip E), to override the ones entered here. You must specify a Position here or in each row if you have selected the Require Position option in the Location in question (e.g. you must specify a From Position if you have selected Require Position in the From Location).
- The 'Paste Special' list for the From Position will only list Used Positions, while the 'Paste Special' list for the To Position will only list Free Positions.
- For Production
- Paste Special
Production register, Production module
- If you created the Stock Movement from a Production record (i.e. its purpose is to move components into the To Location (workshop or production area) where they will be used to build an assembled Item), the originating Production Number will appear here.
- If you entered the Stock Movement directly to the Stock Movement register, you can connect it to a Production by entering a Production Number here. If you are not using the Update Production In Qty from Stock Movement option in the Production Settings setting in the Production module, the Input Items that are Stocked Items will be copied from the Production to the Stock Movement. The Requested Quantity of each Item will be the In Qty in the corresponding Production row, less any quantity that has been moved in any previous Stock Movements (i.e. with the same Production Number in the For Production field). The Production Location will be copied to the To Location in the Stock Movement. If you are using the Update Production In Qty from Stock Movement option, nothing will be copied from the Production to the Stock Movement.
- You can use the Stock Movement Journal report to print a list of the Stock Movements related to a particular Production record.
- Manual Pick
- This check box is used by the Warehouse Management module. Please refer to your local HansaWorld representative for details.
- Send to Forklift Queue
- This check box is used by the Warehouse Management module. Please refer to your local HansaWorld representative for details.
- Route
- Paste Special
Routes setting, Stock module
- You will tend to use the Route field if you have a fleet of delivery vehicles, each of which repeats the same journey or "Route" every day.
- The Route in a Stock Movement will be updated if you change the From, Via or To Locations, with the new Route being taken from the record in the Routes/Locations setting in the Stock module for the From/Via/To Location combination.
- The Routes of Stock Movements can be used by the Trip Sheet report in the Stock module. This can be a list of the Deliveries, Stock Movements and Returned Goods to Supplier records on a particular Route that can be transported on a specified date or during a specified period.
- Type
- Paste Special
Choices of possible entries
- The Type field is intended for use in countries that will use the Legal Record Numbers setting in the Sales Ledger to generate Official Numbers for Stock Movements. In other countries, the default value "Normal" will usually be suitable. The available options are:
- Normal
- Official Numbers will be taken from Legal Record Number sequences in which the Register is "Stock Movements" or "Stock Movements Manual". If the Status of a Stock Movement (visible on the 'Freight' card) is "Recovered from Damaged Database", its Official Number will be taken from a Legal Record Number sequence in which the Register is "Stock Movements Recovered".
- Transport of own goods
- This Type can only be used in Stock Movements that you did not create from Sales Orders.
- Official Numbers will be taken from Legal Record Number sequences in which the Register is "Stock Movements Transport of own goods" or "Stock Movements Transport of own goods Manual". If the Status of a Stock Movement is "Recovered from Damaged Database", its Official Number will be taken from a Legal Record Number sequence in which the Register is "Stock Movements Transport of own goods Recovered".
- Sales Consignment Stock
- This Type can only be used in Stock Movements that you created from Sales Orders. An individual Stock Movement can only contain Items that are also in the originating Order, you will not be able to add or insert rows to the Stock Movement.
- Official Numbers will be taken from Legal Record Number sequences in which the Register is "Stock Movements Sales Consignment Stock" or "Stock Movements Sales Consignment Stock Manual". If the Status of a Stock Movement is "Recovered from Damaged Database", its Official Number will be taken from a Legal Record Number sequence in which the Register is "Stock Movements Sales Consignment Stock Recovered".
- In Portugal (i.e. if the VAT Law in the Company Info setting is "Portuguese"), the Type of a Stock Movement must be "Sales Consignment Stock" if you need to print a Stock Movement Invoice from it.
- Transport of 3rd Party Goods
- This Type can only be used in Stock Movements that you created from Sales Orders.
- Official Numbers will be taken from Legal Record Number sequences in which the Register is "Stock Movements Transport of goods of 3rd Entities" or "Stock Movements Transport of goods of 3rd Entities Manual". If the Status of a Stock Movement is "Recovered from Damaged Database", its Official Number will be taken from a Legal Record Number sequence in which the Register is "Stock Movements Transport of goods of 3rd Entities Recovered".
- Global Transport
- This Type can only be used in Stock Movements that you created from Sales Orders.
- Official Numbers will be taken from Legal Record Number sequences in which the Register is "Stock Movements Global Transport" or "Stock Movements Global Transport Manual". If the Status of a Stock Movement is "Recovered from Damaged Database", its Official Number will be taken from a Legal Record Number sequence in which the Register is "Stock Movements Global Transport Recovered".
- In Portugal (i.e. if the VAT Law in the Company Info setting is "Portuguese"), if you sell all Items in a "Global Transport" Stock Movement you can create an Invoice for those Items from the Stock Movement. You must have marked the Stock Movement as Received and it must have an Official Number. To create the Invoice, select 'Invoice' from the Create menu (Windows/macOS) or + menu (iOS/Android). The 'Invoice' function will only be visible in Portugal. Please refer to the description of the Global Transport No. and Global Transport Date fields on the 'Del. Terms' card in the Invoice window here for more details about creating Invoices from "Global Transport" Stock Movements.
