Web Texts

This page describes the Web Texts setting in the Webshop and CMS module.

---

When configuring your website to be viewable in different languages you can add translations of each piece of text that you need to be displayed on screen. To do this you will use the Translation and Menu registers as described here. There are also some built-in texts (e.g. messages and button names) that you will need to translate. To do this, use the Web Texts setting.

Each Web Text has a unique internal code and a default text in English. If you do not enter any records to the Web Texts setting, the default texts will be used in all circumstances. If you do not want to use the default text for a particular Web Text, enter a record to the Web Texts setting with the relevant internal code and your own text. You can do this even if your website is not multi-language i.e. you can use the Web Texts setting simply because you want to use your own texts instead of the default ones. If necessary, you can include html text formatting tags and <a href> anchors in Web Texts.

Code
Enter the internal code of the Web Text that you need to change. Please refer to the pages describing the individual Structure and Element Types for lists of the Web Text internal codes that are relevant to each Type.

Text
Enter the text that is to be used as the default (used when browser users do not specify a language and when they choose a language for which there is no entry in the matrix).

If your website is not multi-language and you are using the Web Texts setting because you want to use your own texts instead of the default ones, enter your text in this field and leave the matrix empty.

Matrix
Use the matrix to enter translations of the Text in each language.
