Jewellery Workflow - Miscellaneous

This section contains some suggestions that may be useful when using the Jewellery module in Standard ERP.

Repairs

If a Customer brings a jewellery piece in for repair, you can manage the process using a Service Order in the Service Orders module. The full process is described in the 'Service Orders module.

It is recommended that you select the Update Known Serial Number Register option in the Stock Settings setting in the Stock module. The Known Serial Number register will then keep a record of the Serial Numbered pieces you have sold. When entering a Service Order, all you will need to do is enter a Serial Number. Details about the Item/piece and the Customer will then be brought in. If the piece is not one that you sold, you will of course have to enter these details yourself, but when you create a Service Stock Transaction to sign the piece in to your workshop the Known Serial Number register will be updated so the piece will then become known for any future repairs.

The Jewellery module will move the Serial Number field from the third position on flip A of the 'Items' card in the Service Order record window to the first position. This should encourage entering or scanning the Serial Number as the first piece of information in a new Service Order.

Stock Transactions

If you are using the Jewellery module, the Serial Number field will be added to flip A in the matrix on the 'Items' card in the Returned Goods to Supplier, Stock Depreciation, Stock Movement and Stocktaking record windows. This allows you to add or scan Serial Numbers to these records quickly and easily without needing to look for the Serial Number field first. The Location field will also be added to flip A in the Returned Goods to Supplier window.

Forms/Documents

You can add fields to print jewellery and watch information from the relevant Batch Specification records to the Form Templates that will be used by the following forms:

Birthday List Report

If you need to send messages or emails to Customers to offer best wishes for birthdays or other significant dates, you can use the Birthday List report in the CRM module to provide a list of Customers to contact on each date.
