Create Menu - Agreement - Tag/Object

This page describes the 'Tag/Object' function on the Create menu in the Agreement record window. If you are using iOS or Android, the 'Tag/Object' function is on the + menu.

---

At any time but usually when you are entering a new Agreement, you can use the 'Tag/Object' function on the Create menu (Windows/macOS) or + menu (iOS/Android) to create a record in the Tag/Object register (in the System module and Nominal Ledger) to represent the Agreement. By default, the Tag/Object Code will be the same as the Agreement Code and the Tag/Object Name will be the constructed from the Customer Name and the Comment in the Agreement. It can be useful to create a new Tag/Object dedicated to a particular Agreement so that its costs and revenue can easily be analysed in the Nominal Ledger.

When you select the function, the following window will open, allowing you to create a new Tag/Object:

The new Tag/Object will be shown in a window entitled 'Tag/Object: New'. This means that it has not yet been saved. After amendment if necessary, save the record in the Tag/Object register by clicking the [Save] button (Windows/macOS) or by tapping √ (iOS/Android). Alternatively, if you no longer require the Tag/Object, click [Cancel] or tap <. In either case, you will be returned to the Agreement window. If you save the Tag/Object, its Tag/Object Code will be copied to the Tags/Objects field on the 'Del.Terms' card of the Agreement.

You do not need to save an Agreement before creating a Tag/Object, but it is recommended that you save the Agreement first so that there is an Agreement Number that can be copied to the new Tag/Object. Note too that an unsaved Customer Name and Comment will not be copied to the Name field in the new Tag/Object.

Please refer here for a full description of Tags/Objects.
