The MyStandard Page - Force Stop Server command

This page describes the 'Force Stop Server' command in MyStandard.

If the 'Stop' command on the MyStandard page seems unable to stop your server, you may be able to stop it using the 'Force Stop Server' command. You should exercise extreme caution when using this option. If the server will not stop because it is importing data, running a Maintenance function or printing forms that cause data to be changed (e.g. Invoices, Reminders), you risk damaging the database when you force the server to stop. Refer to the server log file to see if the server is running one of these tasks before forcing it to stop. Follow these steps:

1. Log in to MyStandard. If you are already logged in, you may need to select 'Companies' in the main menu at the top of the window.
   

2. If you have more than server, select the one you want to work with in the list on the left-hand side of the window.
   

3. To check the server log file to see if the server is running a Maintenance function, printing forms or carrying out another task, select the 'View Log' command and choose the hansa.log option.
   

4. Press 'Force Stop Server'. This command will only be visible if you have Admin Access or Start/Stop Server access to the server on MyStandard.
   

   

5. You will be asked if you are certain you want to proceed:
   

   

6. If you press 'OK', the server will be stopped. Any users who are logged in will be told that they have lost connection with the server:
   

   

7. The force stop will be added to the Server Activity Log.
