Leave Settings

The Leave Settings setting contains some parameters that control the calculation of the available leave allowance in Leave Applications and in the Leave Balance report.

To open the Leave Settings setting, first ensure you are in the Human Resources Management module. Then, if you are using Windows or Mac OS X, click the [Settings] button in the Navigation Centre or use the Ctrl-S/⌘-S keyboard shortcut and then double-click 'Leave Settings' in the 'Settings' list. If you are using iOS or Android, select 'Settings' from the Tools menu (with 'wrench' icon) and tap 'Leave Settings' in the 'Settings' list. The window illustrated below will open.

Choose the options that you need and, when finished, click the [Save] button (Windows/Mac OS X) or tap √ (iOS/Android) to save the changes. To close the window without saving changes, click the close box (Windows/Mac OS X) or tap < (iOS/Android).

Automatically Transfer Holiday Balance to next Year

Use this option to specify whether Employees will be able to transfer any unused holiday allowance to the next year.

If you are not using this option, you can transfer an individual Employee's holiday allowance to the next year using the Leave Transfers setting. You can also create an Employment Contract Change, specifying a Fwd. Bal. Days.

Leave Calculation Based on

Use these options to specify whether annual leave allowances and holiday calculations should be based on calendar years or fiscal years (as specified in the Fiscal Years setting in the Nominal Ledger).
