If you are using iOS or Android, the 'Split Row' function is on the Tools menu (with 'wrench' icon).--- The 'Split Row' function will be useful in Deliveries that contain Items with Serial Numbers at the Batch level. If an Order contains an Item that has Serial Numbers at the Batch level, the resulting Delivery will contain a single row in which the default Del. Qty will be the unfulfilled Order Quantity (or the quantity of the Item in stock if that is lower). You will need to specify a Serial/Batch Number in this row (on flip B). If you do not have a sufficient quantity in stock with the specified Serial Number, the Del. Qty will be changed to the quantity that you do have in stock and you will be shown a 'Quantity has changed' message when you move the insertion point away from the Serial Number field. You should then use the 'Split Row' function to divide the row into two, and then enter a second Serial Number in the new row. The 'Split Row' function will ensure that both Delivery rows remain connected to the originating Sales Order row, so the Delivered Quantities in that row will be correct. Repeat the process if you do not have a sufficient quantity in stock with the second Serial Number to fulfil the Order. To use the Split Row' function, first ensure the insertion point is in any field in the row that is to be split (it will already be in the relevant row if you have been shown the 'Quantity has changed' message mentioned in the previous paragraph). Then open the Row menu by right-clicking (Windows) or ctrl-clicking (macOS) the row number and select the 'Split Row' function. If you are using iOS or Android, select 'Split Row' from the Tools menu (with 'wrench' icon). A new row will be added to the Delivery for the Item and with the remaining Del. Qty. You can also use the 'Split Row' function as an alternative to the 'Refill Batch No. Items' function. 'Refill Batch No. Items' requires you to be using the Automatically set Batch Serial Number on Delivery option in the Stock Settings setting, while 'Split Row' does not have this requirement. To use the same example as was used in the description of the 'Refill Batch No. Items' function, you have in stock a batch of ten units of an Item with Serial Number 1 and a batch of ten with Serial Number 2. You receive an Order for eight units. When you create the Delivery, it will contain one row with a Del. Qty of 8 and, if you are using the Automatically set Batch Serial Number on Delivery option, Serial Number 1 will be brought in automatically. If you are not using this option, there will be no default Serial Number, but you can enter Serial Number 1 yourself using 'Paste Special' from the Serial Number field on flip B. This Delivery is left without having been marked as OK and you then receive a second Order for three units. The resulting second Delivery will contain one row with a Del. Qty of 3. Again, depending on the Automatically set Batch Serial Number on Delivery option, Serial Number 1 will be brought in automatically or you can enter it yourself. If you mark one of these Deliveries as OK, the other will become incorrect. For example, if you mark the first Delivery as OK and save, eight units will be removed from stock so you will only have two items with Serial Number 1 left. When you come to mark the second Delivery as OK, you will be warned that you have insufficient stock. You can then use this 'Split Row' function. It will change the Del. Qty of the first row to 2, and add a second row, with a Del. Qty of one. This function will not bring a default Serial Number in to the new row, so you will need to choose Serial Number 2 yourself using 'Paste Special'. As with 'Refill Batch No. Items', you must place the insertion point in the row with the incorrect Serial Number in order to be able to use the 'Split Row' function. So, in a large Delivery, you may need to use this function several times. If the function appears to have no effect, probable reasons are that you have not specified a Serial Number and moved the insertion point out of the Serial Number field and/or you have not removed the tick from the OK box. You can also use the 'Split Row' function with Items that have Serial Numbers at the Unit level if you are using the Generate Bulk Serial Numbers automatically option in the Serial Number Tracking setting. This option allows the Del. Qty in a row for an Item with Serial Numbers at the Unit level to be greater than one, and you will be able to enter a range of Serial Numbers for that Item. Enter the first Serial Number of a range in the Serial No. field on flip B and then move to the next field: the Serial Number that you entered will be overwritten by a range of Serial Numbers separated by a colon (:). The range will contain the appropriate number of Serial Numbers for the Del. Qty. If any of the Serial Numbers in the range are no longer in stock, you will need to use the 'Split Row' function as appropriate. For example, if the Del. Qty is 8 and you enter 1 as the first Serial Number, this will be changed to 1:8 when you leave the Serial Number field. If you have already sold one or more Serial Numbers in that range, a "Serial Number not registered in this Location" message will appear when you try to save the Delivery after marking it as OK. If for example you have sold Serial Number 5, change the range to 1:4 and then use the 'Split Row' function to add a second row for Serial Numbers 6:9. You can use the 'Paste Special' list or perhaps the Item History, Serial Number History or Stock List reports to find the Serial Number(s) that you have already sold. --- The Delivery register in Standard ERP:
