Structured Items

This page describes the Structured Items setting in the Stock module.

---

A Structured Item is one that will be built from components the moment you deliver it to a Customer.

There are various options that you can use to control how Structured Items appear on screen and in printed documents such as Delivery Notes and Picking Lists. The Item record includes a Paste Components During Entry option (on the 'Recipe' card): if you have ticked this option for a Structured Item, its components will be listed on screen in Quotations, Orders and Invoices, and printed in Delivery Notes and Picking Lists. If you have not ticked the Paste Components During Entry option, you can still have its components printed in Delivery Notes and Picking Lists. This is controlled using this setting.

Print Components
Select these options if you need Structured Items to be printed on Delivery Notes and Picking Lists (respectively) with their components listed on separate lines underneath, showing names and quantities.

Only Main Items
Select these options if you need Structured Items to be printed on Delivery Notes and Picking Lists without their components being listed.

Summarised Picking List and Delivery Note
This option applies both to Structured Items and to Stocked Items, and is used in the situation where you have used a particular Item more than once in a Delivery (i.e. it appears in more than one row). If you are using this option, the printed Delivery Notes and Picking Lists will contain a single row for the Item, with a total quantity. Items with Serial Numbers will still be listed individually.
