Disposals Journal

This page describes the Disposals Journal report in the Assets module.

The Disposals Journal is a chronological listing of records in the Disposal register.

When printed to screen, the Disposals Journal has the Standard ERP Drill-down feature. Click (Windows/macOS) or tap (iOS/Android) on any Disposal Number in the report to open the corresponding Disposal record.

Period
Paste Special    Reporting Periods setting, System module
Enter the start and end dates of the period to be covered by the report. The report will list Disposal records with Trans. Dates that fall in the period specified here.

Disposal No.
Range Reporting    Numeric
Enter a Disposal Number or a range of Numbers separated by a colon (:) here if you would like specific Disposal records to be shown in the report.

Inventory No.
Paste Special    Asset register, Assets module
If you need to find the Disposal record in which a particular Asset was written off or sold, enter the Inventory Number of that Asset here.

A/C
Paste Special    Account register, Nominal Ledger/System module
Range Reporting    Alpha
If you need the report to list Disposal records with a particular Cost Account, enter its Account Number here. This refers to the Cost Account entered at Disposal level, not any that you may have entered in Disposal rows.

Include
Use these options to specify whether Disposal records of Type "Sale" and/or Type "Write-off" are to be listed in the report.

Function
Use these options to control the level of detail shown in the report.

Overview
This is a simple list showing Disposal Number, Date, Type (i.e. Sale or Write-off) and Comment, and the Person responsible for originally entering each Disposal.

Detailed
In addition to the information shown in the Overview, this option lists the Assets included in each Disposal record, showing the Inventory Number, Asset Name, the Purchase Value of the Asset, the depreciation figure from the Disposal row, the Sales Price from the Disposal row and the Sales Price - the depreciation figure.

In both cases, invalidated Disposals will be shown in the report with red lines drawn through all text.
