Create Menu - Productions - Productions

This page describes the 'Productions' function on the Create menu in the Production browse window. If you are using iOS or Android, the 'Productions' function is on the + menu.

---

The 'Productions' function on the Create or + menu in the 'Productions: Browse' window will create new Production records for each Stocked Item with a Recipe that has a stock deficiency. The stock deficiency of an Item is the quantity required to bring its stock level after all outstanding Sales and Purchase Orders have been fulfilled up to its Minimum Stock Level. If a Stocked Item with a Recipe has a stock deficiency, the 'Productions' function will create a Production for that Item in which the Qty will be sufficient to cover the stock deficiency. The Status will be Created. You can print the new Production records in a single batch, using the [Forms] button in the Navigation Centre or the Ctrl-D/⌘-D keyboard shortcut.

As the purpose of the function is to begin the process of adding assembled Items to stock and since the Status of the new Production records will be Created, no account will be taken of the stock levels of the components or of any Serial Number requirements. The creation of a Production does not imply that there is sufficient stock of the components to build the assembled Items.

Opening the 'Productions: Browse' window and selecting 'Productions' from the Create menu (Windows/macOS) or + menu (iOS/Android) will open the following dialogue box:

Item No.
Paste Special    Item register
Range Reporting    Alpha
Use this field if you need the function to consider the stock position of a particular Item or range of Items and to creates Productions for any Items in the range for which the current stock levels are too low.

Group
Paste Special    Item Group register, Sales Ledger
Range Reporting    Alpha
Use this field to ensure the function considers the stock position of the Items belonging to a particular Item Group.
Press the [Run] button to start the generation of Production records. When the process is finished, the new records will be available in the Production register for viewing, modifying and processing (you may need to close and re-open the 'Productions: Browse' window to see them).
