Restaurant Bookings

This page describes the Restaurant Bookings report in the Restaurant module.

---

The Restaurant Bookings report is a list of Restaurant Bookings for a particular day or days. The report displays the bookings as an hourly schedule.

The Restaurant Bookings report has the Standard ERP Drill-down feature. Click (Windows/macOS) or tap (iOS/Android) on any number of seats in the report to open an individual Booking record.

Waiters and members of bar staff will be able to produce a Restaurant Bookings report for the current date from the Bar Tab window if you have added a "Bookings" button to that window. When produced in this way, the report will have an additional drill-down: click or tap on a Customer Name to copy the Customer, Table and number of covers to the Bar Tab.

Period
Paste Special    Reporting Periods setting, System module
Specify the period to be covered by the report. The default is the current date.

If the period is longer than a single day, each day within the period will be given its own section in the report.

Machine
Paste Special     Local Machines setting, Point of Sales/Restaurant/Technics module
The header of the report will contain a figure for the maximum number of guests, and each day in the report will be divided into hourly columns, one column for each hour that the restaurant is open. All this information will be taken from a record in the Restaurant Open Hours setting. Specify here the Machine whose Restaurant Open Hours record is to supply this information.

The default value in this field will be the Local Machine Code of the device you are using. Remove this default if you want the report to use the Restaurant Open Hours record in which the Machine field is empty.

Bookings in the report are listed in order by arrival time. The number of seats for each Booking will be shown in the relevant hourly column.

The start of a Booking will always be placed in the column representing the hour of arrival: minutes will be ignored. For example, a Booking whose arrival time is any time between 18:00 and 18:59 will be placed in the 18 column.

The end of a Booking will only be placed in the column representing the hour of departure if the end time is at least 30 minutes into the hour. For example, a Booking whose departure time is between 20:00 and 20:29 will not be placed in the 20 column, while a Booking with a departure time between 20:30 and 21:29 will.
