Webshop - Customer-Specific Options (The Display on the Web setting)

This page describes the Display on the Web setting in the Webshop and CMS module.

---

The Webshop Company Settings, Webshop Settings and Web Payment Methods settings contain various options that you can use to control the behaviour of the webshop when it is used by browser users who have not logged in, and to set the default behaviour for users who have logged in. These options are:

Webshop Company Settings
Show Delivery Modes

Webshop Settings
Show Item Stock Levels

Web Payment Methods
Records in which the Method is "Order", "Invoice", and "Paypal".

If you would like the change the behaviour of these options for a particular Customer or for a group of Customers when they are logged in (e.g. you want to offer different payment options to a particular Customer, or you want to display stock levels in a different way), follow these steps:
  1. Create a record in the Display on the Web setting in which you have selected the appropriate options:

  2. To assign the record from step 1 to a particular Customer, use the Display on the Web field on the 'Web' card of the relevant Contact record:

  3. To assign the record from step 1 to a group of Customers, use the Display on the Web field on the 'Web' card of the relevant Customer Category:

  4. Also in the Contact record for a Customer you can specify a Parent Product Category. This is the Category whose Products will be shown to the Customer when they go to your webshop after logging in.

A Customer’s Parent Product Category will not be used if you have included a Product Category in the URL in the menu or button that takes users to the webshop. For example, if the URL in the menu or button is /shop/catalog a Customer will be shown the Products belonging to their Parent Product Category when they go to the webshop after logging in. If the URL in the menu or button is /shop/catalog/Category_1 the Customer will be shown the Products belonging to Category 1 (both before and after logging in) and their Parent Product Category will be ignored.
