To do this, simply open the Purchase Invoice record and choose 'Invalidate' from the Record menu. This function will remove the Invoice from the Purchase Ledger; any associated Nominal Ledger Transaction will be invalidated as well. An invalidated Invoice is easily distinguished because all fields have red lines drawn through them. These red lines are also shown in the 'Purchase Invoices: Browse' window.You cannot invalidate a Purchase Invoice if it has been paid, if it has not been marked as OK, if it is of preliminary status or if its Invoice Date is earlier than the Lock Purchase Invoices date specified in the Locking setting in the System module. If a Project Transaction has been created from a Purchase Invoice, it will be deleted when you invalidate the Invoice. You will not be able to invalidate the Purchase Invoice if the Project Transaction has already been invoiced. If the Purchase Invoice was created from a Purchase Order, the Invoiced quantity on flip C of the relevant Purchase Order rows will be updated when you invalidate the Invoice, providing you are not using the Consolidate Items to Supplier Cost Account option in the Purchase Invoice Settings setting. You can use Access Groups to control who can invalidate Purchase Invoices. To do this, deny access to the 'Invalidate Purchase Invoices' or the 'Invalidate Purchase and Sales Invoices' Actions.
